initiatief, gecre\u00eberd door duikers voor duikers.\r\n\r\nZowel recreatieve als <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefunkyturtle.com\/diving-courses\/\">professionele duikers<\/a> nemen deel aan dit GEVEN<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\nHet initiatief geeft duikers de mogelijkheid om afval uit de zee te verwijderen en de gegevens te rapporteren.\r\n\r\nHet heeft ook grote positieve voordelen voor al het zeeleven door de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefunkyturtle.com\/conservation\/marine-conservation\/\">gezondheid van de ecosystemen in de oceaan<\/a> te verbeteren en voor schonere wateren te zorgen.\r\n\r\nTot nu toe hebben meer dan 50.000 duikers deelgenomen in 114 landen die allemaal gezamenlijk meer dan 1 miljoen stukjes zwerfvuil rapporteerden.\r\n\r\nTegen eind 2020 is het doel van Project AWARE om door te gaan met het opbouwen van bewijsmateriaal rond de wereldwijde crisis in het puin door de volgende miljoen stukjes zwerfvuil te bereiken en toe te voegen aan de wereldwijde gemaakt afval dat per ongeluk of opzettelijk zijn weg heeft gevonden in onze oceanen, zee\u00ebn en zoetwatermilieus.\r\n\r\nEen van de grootste overtreders en het meest voorkomende materiaal dat wordt aangetroffen is plastic dat op vele manieren een enorme gevaarlijke bedreiging vormen voor het leven in zee.\r\n\r\nVeel kunststoffen zijn gemaakt met extreem giftige chemicali\u00ebn en zijn niet biologisch afbreekbaar, wat betekent dat ze na verloop van tijd uiteenvallen in kleine stukjes die micro-plastics worden genoemd.\r\n\r\n<figure id=\"attachment_3960\" zeeleven kan deze kunststoffen vaak verwarren met voedsel, waardoor er verschrikkelijke lichamelijke functieproblemen ontstaan en in de meeste gevallen de dood.\r\n\r\nDieren kunnen ook verstrikt raken in afval van de zee, wat ernstige verwondingen en verstikking veroorzaakt.\r\n\r\nNaarmate de tijd verstrijkt, blijven er meer onderzoeken verschijnen, die de ernstigheid van afval in de zee op het zeeleven, zeevogels en de oceanen schetsen.\r\n\r\nWetenschappers hebben voorspeld dat het zeer goed mogelijk is dat er in 2025 250 miljoen ton plastic in onze oceanen zit.\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefunkyturtle.com\/scuba-diving\/\">Alleen duikers<\/a> hebben de vaardigheden om scheepsafval te kunnen verwijderen en rapporteren door deel te nemen aan Dive Against Debris.\r\n\r\nDoor samen te werken kunnen duikers een enorm verschil maken in het schoner en veiliger maken van de oceaan voor iedereen.\r\n\r\nDive Against Debris op Koh Tao is een zeer actief programma met veel deelnemers die helpen het mariene milieu schoon te houden.\r\n\r\nJe kunt ook vrijwilligerswerk doen en deelnemen aan een van de <a verzamelde gegevens kunnen vervolgens worden gebruikt om kennis op te doen en kennis op te bouwen over de effecten die puin op zee heeft op de onderwaterwereld.\r\n\r\nHet kan veranderingen in gewoontes, gedrag en regels afdwingen en zelfs veranderingen in infrastructuur om te voorkomen dat zwerfvuil in de oceaan terechtkomt.\r\n\r\nDuikers verzamelen gegevens van <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefunkyturtle.com\/koh-tao-fun-diving\/\">duiklocaties<\/a> over de hele wereld en op basis van hun bevindingen worden er al wijzigingen aangebracht.\r\n\r\nVeel landen zijn begonnen met het verbieden of in rekening brengen van het gebruik van plastic tassen, waardoor individuen worden aangemoedigd om waar mogelijk herbruikbare tassen te gebruiken.\r\n\r\nPlastic rietjes worden ook vervangen door duurzamere materialen zoals bamboe en roestvrij staal.\r\n\r\nMomenteel drijft er een grote verscheidenheid aan door mensen gemaakt afval rond in de oceaan, maar door deel te nemen aan een Dive Against Debris enqu\u00eate, kan je je bij de beweging aansluiten en belangrijke stappen ondernemen om de oceaan, waar we allemaal van houden, te beschermen.\r\n\r\n<figure zijn veel manieren om onze oceanen schoon te houden.\r\n\r\nHet kan zo simpel zijn als het oprapen van afval waar je het ook ziet en het in de prullenbak doen of door nee te zeggen tegen plastic zakken in de winkel.
